This exchange is full of market manipulation and random site offline.. secret orders and what not!! A lot of lawsuits now against bitmex! Makes this a very unreliable exchange. Im not here to promote anything tho
Support staff is useless. They make matters even worse. Also, their charts have many scam wicks. Google them, they make you lose tons of money
Just terrible and utterly pointless. The entire point of this "exchange" is to put people up against each other (zero sum game) while extracting fees and liquidations from them over time. Over time no one except the exchange wins. Check the growth of their ridiculous insurance fund if you do not believe me. Stay far, far away; don't give these guys your BTC.
Extremely Poor Experience! Platform is extremely complicated and you can see absurd ups and downs to terminate shorts or longs. I manage to withdraw everything. While the whales make money, the little guy is blow away.
Been using bitMEX for a while and things were going okay. But recently they started acting rather strange. They closed my trades and liquidated my account even though I had SL’s way beyond anywhere to clear me out. I reached out to them and they kept stalling for weeks. While I was rather hesitant to believe I had been scammed, I proceeded to make a recovery claim as I didn’t want to take any chances. To my amazement, the FCA put out a warning on them last month. Quite sad but at least I took action before it was too late. Stay clear
I had liquidation price set 15326.50. They closed my position even when price didn’t drop below 11350…I lost all my asset like 15,700 EUR and they will not respond to my complaints...I filed in Jan 2020, it didn't take much time for my claim to be approved, my referral was partially reimbursed, so I am certain of positive outcome. I'll keep you lots informed, please stay safe.
Terrible service, few days ago while the market was moving hard, Bitmex was down for some time, and all my orders were executed without being able to access the exchange. This is absolutely unacceptable and i wouldn't suggest anyone to use this exchange any more.
I used to login daily to make test transaction. I invested a small amount, I was only trying to see how they work One day I could not login. Tried resetting password, but did not get email. My account simply dissapeared. I used to get notifications about my orders, but none anymore from that day. Tried making new account with the same email - not possible. I think they have some purge of small accounts and keep email addresses to reject future accounts. No support at all
I was just in a long trade. I had got in at 8264 and expected it to go up. Per my trading view graph, bitcoin went up to 8350 but on the bitmex website, their graph (which I also had live and open) had only showed that it had went up to 8276. Therefore my “take profit” alert was not triggered and I did not make any profit for the trade. They are blatant scammers! I wish I could upload the screen shots. I will report them to the FCA as I have sufficient proof! The worst thing is that there is nothing that you can do about it. They are based in the Seychelles with very few ethical laws! It also explains why American citizens can not use the platform without a VPN. My advise: learn from me - join a reputable company like IG instead of bitmex.

My account just got closed for no reason. What the hell is happening? No support at all...They gonna steal your bitcoins
They can't run their platform with integrity. lost 1.5 BTC due to their platform not responding to trades when it was needed with no help given by their support team. Do not use this platform, use Deribit instead for perpetual BTC leverage trading.
Very poor support service. Locked out of account for unknown reason. Could not access funds for a long time because support very slow to respond. Trading platform is very average. During busy times the system overloads and you cannot trade at key times which makes it very difficult to make any profits. Have to be very smart where to set stop losses because Bitmex is good at triggering them to get Clients fee money. I've since moved over to Deribit.
I've been trading on Bitmex for the past 1.5 years and I'm finally fed up with the constant freezes that end up with my stop losses being triggered despite the fact that before the freeze I was in profit. That said, I'm 100% sure Bitmex is trading against its own clients. Other Point is that once I see an opportunity I get "order submission errors" and missing out on good trades. Since then I've moved to PrimeXBT
First of all, I'm a day user of Bitmex and have gained profit from using their platform. That being said, they are total frauds. When the 'position margin' closes on a stop-loss they charge you substantially more than the indicative position lets you know, leaving your position completely drained, and often wiping you out. For example: If you have a position and your stop is set for a profit of 0.1XBT incl PNL ( this can easily be calculated with their calculator) and the stop loss hits. Woops! Magically you're at 0.05 or less. The customer service team is completely useless as well. After explaining this to them over and over, they continue to ask derailing questions to make you give up. Of course you give up! these people make you lose the will to live. Wouldn't recommend this AT ALL to any new user. They cannot be trusted.
BitMex is a winning house for the owners, they have accumulated billions though their loosing customers. They are totally unregulated, they can bet against their customers, they can do what ever they want to manipulate BTC and other prices. If you think you want to play their game better put your money in a roulette. You have more chances for winning. BitMex is a major reason for crashing BTC prices by shorting and dumping. No transparency, no accountability. If you want to loose your precious coins go ahead and loose them all at BitMex.
Very high volume, cheap fees, fast. Ideal for those who want to leverage on Bitcoin, both buying or selling. It's a bit complicated to understand the way it works, but they are reliable and professional, with very good support.
Trading volume on BitMEX is more than the trading volume of top 10 exchanges together (BTC/FIAT or BTC/USDT). BitMEX is not regulated / audited. The owners (or insider) can easily manage that manipulation.
